AN ACT OF LOVE

****since it is almost valentine's day...here's a good story to make you mushy mushy...^_^****

It was all about a couple living a simple life and being together is the most important thing they care about. The fact that the husband was the only one earning made them difficult to buy additional luxuries including gifts during special occasions. I would say that it must be sometime during the sixties wherein the husband provides and the wife plainly stays at home to attend on domestic matters.
The husband adores his wife's long hair. He loves touching it everytime he shows his affection towards her. It was his dream to buy a beautiful hair comb for his wife but the lack of money forbids him to do so. A week soon and it would be their wedding anniversary. Beyond the husband knowledge his wife was in deep thoughts as to what gift she would buy for her loving husband. After a days work at home the wife decides to make a short walk and saw a watch-repair stand along the streets. Suddenly, a brilliant idea struck her mind and gladly made her way back home. On the day of their anniversary the wife hurriedly went to a beauty parlor whose window's post a sign board "BUYING HAIR". During those times some parlors buy natural hair for wig making. After getting paid, the wife strolled back to the watch-repair stand and bought the leather bracelet to match her husband's Hamilton wrist watch since it's former bracelet was long worn-out. Finally the wife returned home brimming with happiness. At last, her husband would be wearing his wrist watch once again.
It was nearing night and soon her husband would be home any time by now. Her heart felt so much excitement longing to see his reaction about the leather bracelet. Just as she finished fixing her short hair, she heard the door opened and to her surprise her husband looked terribly disappointed upon seeing her new hair cut. "Happy anniversary my dear" said her husband. And she noticed the sadness in his face while he handed his gift to her. Not knowing what to say she opened her gift and saw a beautiful imported hair comb. Her tears begun to swell from her eyes and asked "this is expensive, where did you get the money to buy this?". The husband replied, "Remember the wrist watch i kept? I sold it to buy you a gift.". With a melting heart, the wife embraced her husband for so long they forgot about their gifts but only their love for one another. . .

...the golden rule...

[repost by request].... mula ng magawa ko ang entry na " Time for Sale ", kung saan pinaliwanag na ang oras ay hindi lang ginto (time is gold)...nagkainteres din ako sa konsepto ng Golden Rule... malamang sa malamang sobrang familiar na tayo sa konseptong ito...ano nga ba ang golden rule?....ang sabi sa bible: "Do unto others as you would want done unto you." (Mt 7:12/Lk 6:31) ang sabi naman sa Budismo: "Putting oneself in the place of another, one should not kill nor cause another to kill" ( Harris E.J. 1997 ) ...halos ganito din ang mga konsepto ayon sa Confucianismo: "Never impose on others what you would not choose for yourself" (Confucius, Analects XV.24, tr. David Hinton) ...maging sa Islam ito rin ang sinasabi, sa katunayan isang sermon ni Muhammad na tinagurian The Farewell Sermon ay sinabi nya: "Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you" ...marami pang mga mga organisasyon at relihiyon sa mundo ang naniwala sa k

"Bugtong-bugtong.
