Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao Vs Antonio Margarito

[LATEST UPDATE] And the WINNER is Manny Pacquiao! Congratulations!

November 14, 2010 sa Pilipinas, November 13, 2010 sa Amerika... ito na ang araw ng sagupaan ng dalawang mandirigma para sa kategoryang super welterweight...sino ang magwawagi?...sino ang hahalik sa lona?

My forecast?...  if Pacquiao will be able to maintain his speed, strong and multiple punches along with excellent stamina, and footwork...ummmhhhh, I guess the fight will end by a knockout before Round 3.....but who knows? Anyway, despite of the david-vs-goliath in the tale of the tape, this gonna be an interesting fight... Goodluck Pacman!

Update 9: Super welterweight Manny Pacquiao (52-3-2, 38 KOs) added another chapter to his legendary career on Saturday night before a huge crowd at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, Texas. Pacquiao won a world title in a record eighth weight class (WBC junior middleweight) with a brutal twelve round beating of Antonio Margarito (38-7, 27 KOs). Pacquiao was a little better in round one against the much bigger Margarito who was 17 pounds heavier at fight time. Both fighters landed big shots in round two. Pacman had the edge in round three, landing more clean shots. Pacman began to bust up Margarito in round four landing many clean shots. Another big round for Manny in the sixth. Huge cut under Margarito’s right eye. Margarito had some good moments in the sixth, trapping Pacquiao on the ropes. Margarito was still in the fight in the seventh, but it was Manny’s round. Margarito trapped Manny on the ropes several times but Manny fought his way out of it. Still Margarito came on hard. Pacquiao kept the fight in the center of the ring in the ninth much to his advantage. Big rounds for Pacman in the tenth and eleventh. Pacman had mercy on the game, nearly blind Margarito in the twelfth and carried him to the final bell.

Update 8: In a clash for the vacant WBA interim junior featherweight championship, two-time Olympic gold medalist Guillermo Rigondeaux (7-0, 5 KOs) won a world title in his seventh pro fight by taking a split decision against former champion Ricardo Cordoba (37-2-2, 23 KOs) over twelve mostly technical rounds. Rigondeaux dropped Cordoba with a body shot in round four and Cordoba got credit for a knockdown in round six when Rigondeaux’s glove touched the canvas after a jab. Rigondeaux was on his bicycle the rest of the fight, but still landed enough to win by scores of 117-109, 114-112 on two cards. Cordoba was up 114-112 on the other card.

Update 7: Welterweight contender Mike Jones (23-0, 18 KOs) won a ten round majority decision firefight with Jesus Soto-Karass (24-5-3, 16 KOs). Jones, rated in the top four of all sanctioning bodies, went for the KO in round two with a long, sustained assault, which Soto-Karass weathered. Although busted up, Soto-Karass came back in round three to punish a seemingly punched out Jones and applied pressure the rest of the fight. Jones got his second wind in the later rounds. Scores were 94-94, 95-94, 97-93. With the win, Jones retained his NABA, NABO and WBC Continental Americas belts.

Update 6: WBA #1, WBC #4 lightweight Brandon Rios (26-0-1, 19 KOs) battered Omri Lowther (14-3, 10 KOs) until referee Raul Caiz Jr. stopped the punishment in round five. Time was 2:17.

Junior lightweight Angel Rodriguez, 6-4-1 (4 KOs), scored a minor upset, handing southpaw Juan Martin Elorde, 11-1 (4 KOs), his first defeat with a four round unanimous decision. Scores were 40-36, twice and 39-37. Elorde is the grandson of Hall of Fame inductee Flash Elorde.

...the golden rule...

[repost by request].... mula ng magawa ko ang entry na " Time for Sale ", kung saan pinaliwanag na ang oras ay hindi lang ginto (time is gold)...nagkainteres din ako sa konsepto ng Golden Rule... malamang sa malamang sobrang familiar na tayo sa konseptong ito...ano nga ba ang golden rule?....ang sabi sa bible: "Do unto others as you would want done unto you." (Mt 7:12/Lk 6:31) ang sabi naman sa Budismo: "Putting oneself in the place of another, one should not kill nor cause another to kill" ( Harris E.J. 1997 ) ...halos ganito din ang mga konsepto ayon sa Confucianismo: "Never impose on others what you would not choose for yourself" (Confucius, Analects XV.24, tr. David Hinton) ...maging sa Islam ito rin ang sinasabi, sa katunayan isang sermon ni Muhammad na tinagurian The Farewell Sermon ay sinabi nya: "Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you" ...marami pang mga mga organisasyon at relihiyon sa mundo ang naniwala sa k

Bukang-Liwayway
